Mount Elbrus journal entry:
August 20, 2002

“Two years ago I feared I might not walk someday, due to my multiple sclerosis.  I am now beginning to think of my MS as a gift.  It has brought about many changes in my life and has shaped me into the stronger person that I am now.  I have learned that life is unpredictable and not always easy, but if we approach it with a feeling of gratitude, we can find the positive things that help us to grow.  These things shape who we are.  I am thankful for all that has been given to me, all that has been taken away and all that I have been left with.  My life is truly blessed.”
